Observe teachers’ interactions with children to become familiar with the role of the teacher and the program’s approach to child guidance
Assist teachers with morning set-up before children arrive and clean up at the close of the day
Assist with daily tasks during program hours (washing dishes, snack, etc.)
Direct any parent questions/concerns to teachers or administrator

Experience and Requirements

Experience working with 3-6-year-old children and interest in their development/ developmental needs.
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather (have proper gear)
Awareness of program’s unique philosophy and role of the teacher and demonstrates a willingness to learn
Ability to slow down, observe, not be in a rush
Qualities: nurturing, calm, patient, curious, organized, able to take direction, good listener, ability to be quiet and give children their space, acts and speaks in a way worthy of imitation by a child
Ability to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, pull, push, sit without back support, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and 10-35 pounds frequently

Compensation Information:
Hourly wage is $12/hr and we offer a 25% discount on farm produce and flowers for staff members

We’re looking for teachers September through June to teach everything from maple sugaring to forest and farm ecology to the life and care of our Farm animals. Training and support provided.
