Pre-School Age Programs

CHORE TIME (Ages 3-5)
Come down to the Farm and wake the animals up. Help the Farm feed and water the animals and gather the eggs.

Let's grow together (Ages 3-5)
Over a period of a month we will see how plants and animals grow at the Farm. We'll be a part of how the Farm is changing with the season.

BABY STARS AT THE FARM (Ages 3-5)
Get to know bunnies, kids, lambs, chicks and piglets through watching, touching and story telling. Each week will feature one animal. We will meet the animals, and read a story.
When: Wednesday, March 28, April 4, 25 and May 2

LITTLE HANDS IN THE SOIL (Ages 3-5)
We're looking for little hands to help care for our "Toddler's Garden". We'll plant, mulch, rake, water, and more - just like big gardeners.

Session 2: Thursday, May 17, 24, 31 and June 7

1:30 - 2:30 p.m.

MEET THE FARM ANIMALS (Ages 3-5)
Meet our friendly Farm animals, cuddle a bunny and scratch a goat or collect eggs.
When:

Session 2: 2 - 2:45 p.m.

GOT MILK? Ages 3-5
Have you ever milked a goat? Spend some time with our milking friends! Does chocolate milk really come from brown cows? Come see and taste what we can make with milk!
When: Thursday, May 17 or May 31

FARM ACTIVITIES AND CRAFTS (Ages 3-5)
Let's discover the farm in beautiful spring and create crafts around the season - from painting flower pots, to sowing seeds, and gathering flowers.

HOP WITH THE BUNNIES (Ages 3-5)
Spend some time learning about these warm, fuzzy little creatures. How they live in the wild and how we care for them at home.

School Age Programs

 

Afterschool farmers
Throughout the year of 2012 we offer an Afterschool Program for Elementary School Students on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. The program involves students in our everyday Farm operations - from animal chores to starting seedlings in our green houses to cultivating our vegetable garden. Memorial students will be walked over from Memorial by a member of the Farm staff (please leave a note with school). All other registrants please check in at workshop at the Farm

Mondays: K - 4th grade

Session 1: March 12, 19, 26, April 2, 9, and 23

Session 2: April 30, May 7, 14, 21, June 4 and 11

 

Wednesdays: K + 1st grade

Session 5: March 21, 28, April 4, 11, 25, and May 2

Session 6: May 9, 16, 23, 30, June 6, and 13

 

Thursdays: grade 2-4

Session 5: April 5, 12, 26, May 3, 10, 17

FARMER'S HELPER (Ages 8+)
Care for the livestock and help with the evening chores while feeding and securing the animals for the night.

YOUTH WORK EXPERIENCE Ages 11 +
Middle school children are invited to join our staff after school to take care of the animals and help with maintenance. From April to June students will help start vegetable seedlings, transplant and prepare gardens.
When: Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday, April 2- June 7(9 weeks)
Time: 3 - 5 p.m.
Fee: $180 NM/$145 M; 9 afternoons

 

SHEEP AND LAMBS (Ages 5-10)
Springtime sees our lambs running out on fresh grass in the meadow. Visit these gentle little creatures and learn about their needs and great products they give us.
When: Tuesday, April 3
Time: 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Fee: $15 NM/ $12 M

 

BARNYARD BUDDIES (Ages 5-9)
Help wake up the Farm with morning chores such as feeding, watering, milking and collecting eggs.

When: April 7 (1), 21 (2), 28 (3), May 5(4), May 12 (5), or June 2(6)
Time: 8:30 - 10 a.m.
Fee: $22 NM/$18 M; 1 class

 

SASSY GOATS (Ages 5-10)
Visit our bouncy arrivals, the new kids on the Farm. Let's build them something to climb on and visit their moms for some milking.

ONLY BUNNIES (Ages 5 - 10)
Thinking about a rabbit for a pet? Here's your chance to hold, care for and get all your questions about these furry critters answered.

Hands on interaction during afternoon chore time as animals are fed and watered, cuddled and put to bed for the night.

Let's visit the goats and our cow with calf. We'll milk our goats and find out about the many products we can turn it into.

PURELY PIGLETS (Ages 5 - 10)
Get to know the smartest animal on the Farm. A chance to learn about our piglets, feed them kitchen scraps, and watch them play in the mud.

Family Programs

 

HOW SWEET TO SIP SAP WITH YOUR CHILD Ages 3-5 (parent/child class)
Learn about maple syrup. Listen to a story, hike out to the sugar trees and visit the sugar shack. Finally, enjoy our own maple syrup on some fresh pancakes. This is a parent/child class.
When: Tuesday, March 20 or Thursday, March22
Time: 10 - 11 am
Fee: $20 NM/$16 M for parent/caretaker +child

 

 

A Farmer's Morning
Let's do it the farmer's way! First we will take care of the animals, feed and water them. We'll collect fresh eggs for breakfast, and then head inside for a hearty farm breakfast.
When:
Sunday, April 1, 15, and 29
Time: 9 – 10:30 a.m.
Fee:$20/person. Children under 10 free. When registering, please note how many children are in your party.
