Pre-School Programs

 

Chore Time (Ages 3-5)
Come down to the Farm and wake the animals up. Help the Farm feed and water the animals and gather the eggs.
When:

Session 3 Thursday, September 27, October 4, 18, and 25

Little Hands in the Soil (Ages 3-5)
We are looking for little hands to help us harvest our crops and put the garden to bed.
When: Monday, September 24, October 1, 15, and 22
Time:
Session 1: 10:30 – 11:30 am
Session 2: 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.
Fee: $60 NM/$48 M; 4 classes

 

Fall Crafts and Activities (Ages 3-5)
With your little fingers, transform bounties from the Farm into crafts to take home. From pumkin mania to making applesauce, from scarecrows to leaf crafts, we will be out and about on the Farm to discover and explore.
When: Thursday, September 27, October 4, 18, and 25
Time: 10:30 – 11:30 am
Fee: $70 NM/$56 M; 4 classes

 

Hop With the Bunnies (Ages 3-5)
Spend time petting these warm, fuzzy little creatures. Learn how they live in the wild and how we care for them at home.
When:
Wednesday, October 3 or October 24
Time: 10:15 - 11:15 am
Fee: $15 NM/$12 M; 1 class

 

 

School Age Programs

 

farming for home schoolers - ages 5 - 10
Throughout the 2012/2013 school year we will offer a morning for home schoolers at the Farm. Each morning children will be involved in our every-day Farm operations, from animal chores to havesting to putting our gardens to bed. Over the course of the year children will get a deep insight into all aspects of work on a farm. This is a drop-off program.

When:
Semester 1 : Tuesday, September 4 - January 22 (18 days)

Semester 1 : Wednesday, September 5 - January 23(18 days)

Time: 9:00– 12 noon
Fee: $810 NM/$567 M

 

 

after-school farmers GradeS K - 4
Throughout the 2012/2013 school year we will offer an After-School Program for Elementary School Students. The program will involve students in our everyday Farm operations, from animals chores to harvest to putting our gardens to bed. Memorial students will be walked over from Memorial by Farm staff. Children can be registered for eight-week sessions. There are no classes on Natick Early Release days.

Session 1: Monday, September 10, 24, October 1, 15, 22, 29, November 5, and 19

Session 2: Monday, November 26, December 3, 10, 17, January 7, 14, and 28

 

Grades 2 - 4

Session 1: Thursday, Septmber 6, 20, 27, October 4, 11, 18, 25, and November 8

Session 2: Thursday, November 15, 29, December 6, 20, January 3, 10, 17, and 24

Time: 3:15 – 4:45 p.m.
Fee: $180 NM/$144 M; 8 classes

 

after-school in the woods K - 4
Let's reclaim our woods for afternoon play and exploration. There will be time for hikes, wood working and building shelters. Memorial students will be walked over from Memorial School by Farm staff. Children can be registered by semester.
When: Wednesdays September 5 - January 23 (no classes on Natick Early Release days)
Time: 3: 15 - 4:45 p.m.
Fee: $360 NM/$288 M; per semester (16 classes)

 

Youth Work Experience (Ages 11+)
We are inviting middle school students to join Farm staff after school to work in the gardens, take care of the animals and help with maintenance. This hands-on learning experience gives participants a chance to learn job skills.
When:
Tuesday afternoons (1) and/or
Wednesday afternoons (2) and/or
Thursday afternoons (3)
September 19 through November 29 (9 weeks)
Time: 3 – 5 pm
Fee: $216 NM/$171 M per day of the week

 

Barnyard Buddies (Ages 5-9)
Help wake up the farm with morning chores. Feeding, watering, and collecting eggs.
When: Saturdays. September 22, 29, October 13, 20, 27, November 3, 10 and/or 17
Time: 8:30– 10 am
Fee: $22 NM/$18 M; 1 class

 

Chickens and Turkeys (Ages 5-8)
Meet a chicken and greet a turkey. We learn what they really love to eat and feed them ourselves. Maybe if we're quiet, we can hold a chicken (turkeys will be too big). Then we'll hunt for eggs in the nesting boxes.
When: Tuesday, October 2
Time: 3:30– 4:30 pm
Fee: $15 NM/$12 M; 1 class

 

Only Bunnies (Ages 5-9)
Not enough time to play with the bunnies on regular farm visits? Thinking about a rabbit for a pet? Here's your chance to hold care for and get all your questions about these furry creatures answered.
When: Wednesday, October 3 or October 24
Time: 3:30– 4:30 pm
Fee: $15 NM/$12 M; 1 class

 

 

 

Family Programs

 

TODDLER EXPLORERS
For those children too young to separate, come with your parent/caregiver for a fun exploration of the farm. Join us as we read a farm story, see the plants and animals, watch a goat being milked or touch a soft bunny. A wonderful first exploration of the Farm for children ages 1-3 years!
When:
Wednesday, October 10 and 17
Time: 10:30 - 11:30 am
Fee: $30 NM/$24 M; per family

 

A Farmer's Morning
Let's do it the farmer's way! First we will take care of the animals, feed and water them. We'll collect fresh eggs for breakfast, and then head inside for a hearty farm breakfast.
When:
Sunday, September 23 and/or October 14
Time: 9 – 10:30 am
Fee: $20/person. Children under 10 free. When registering, please note how many children are in your party.
